Empowerment goes beyond physical safety. It is understanding that YOU have a VOICE and that voice has POWER — It’s about knowing that in any fight; physical, psychological, or emotional, YOU are Worth Fighting For!

"Your power comes from within. It can be one of the strongest forces on earth if you let it be. That comes with knowledge, skills gained, perseverance, and resiliency."

- Iyémote, Strives for Empowerment of the Stó:lō Nation

Empowerment

The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights.

Community

This work is all about connection, the human experience, supporting one another through challenging times and celebrating our wins together. It is why I put together this academy to help others learn, grow, empower each other and support one another.

Self-Care & Self-Healing

The courses provided are very much about self-care and self-healing. The practice of taking care of your physical, mental, and emotional health could not be more relevant at this time.

Aloha, I am Iyémote, Strives for Empowerment of the Stó:lō Nation. My English name is Tasha Ina Church

Empowerment is not just my profession, it is my revolution and the catalyst for my clients’ and students’ evolution. For 26 years, I have guided women, youth, and communities to reclaim their voices, embody their strength, and become the heroes of their own stories, creating measurable impact both locally and globally.

I teach Self-Care, Self-Healing, Self-Empowerment, and Empowerment Self-Defense through a trauma-informed lens. My foundation began with Warrior Spirit under Jeff Alexander and expanded into multiple Japanese Martial Arts and Tai Chi, later training with Arlene Limas, Olympic Gold Medalist in Taekwondo, ESD Global, and the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation. I hold national certification in Empowerment Self-Defense through NWMAF, accreditation through ESD Global, and my credential through the International Association of ESD Professionals, along with advanced certifications in Trauma-Informed Care, Psychological First Aid, and Integrated Somatic EMDR. My current martial arts practice is Aikido through Berkshire Hills Aikido under Ron Ragusa and Mary C. Eastland.

Rooted in Indigenous healing traditions through my family, my work bridges ancient wisdom with modern neuroscience. I teach people how to regulate their nervous systems, set unshakeable boundaries, and move through the world with embodied confidence, clarity, and courage.
